Terms of Service

Last updated: October 23, 2026

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Arteries Online Pharmacy platform, including the website at medicalarteries.com, its web applications and services (together, the "Platform"). By registering an account, placing an order, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. The Service We Provide

The Platform connects patients with licensed pharmacies and registered pharmacists across Nigeria. Through the Platform you can:

  • browse and purchase non-prescription medicines and healthcare products;
  • submit orders for prescription-only medicines (POM);
  • upload your prescriptions for verification by a licensed pharmacist; and
  • arrange the delivery of your order to an address you provide.

The Platform is a PCN-licensed digital pharmacy service. Pharmacies dispensing through the Platform are responsible for their own professional obligations, and pharmacists verifying prescriptions do so in accordance with PCN standards and the applicable laws of Nigeria.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or place an order on the Platform. By using the Platform you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is true, accurate and complete, and that you will keep it up to date. We may verify the accuracy of the information you provide (including, where applicable, your identity and pharmacist registration details) and may refuse or suspend an account where information is found to be false or where required by law or regulation.

4. Your Account and Security

  • You are responsible for safeguarding the credentials used to access your account and for all activity carried out under your account.
  • You must not share your password with anyone or permit a third party to use your account.
  • If you believe your account has been compromised, you must change your details immediately and contact support.
  • For your protection, the Platform enforces strong-password rules, rate limits sign-in attempts, offers two-factor authentication, and may invalidate existing sessions when your password or security settings change.
  • Accounts may be held by individuals (patients) or by organisations (pharmacies, vendors, courier partners and staff accounts). If you operate an organisation account, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

5. Orders, Prescriptions and Dispensing

  • When you place an order, you agree to pay the price displayed at checkout, plus any applicable delivery and transaction charges.
  • Orders for non-prescription products are processed subject to availability.
  • Orders for prescription-only medicines require a valid prescription. You may be required to upload a legible copy of the prescription and to provide the prescriber's details.
  • A licensed pharmacist will review prescriptions before they are dispensed. The pharmacist may decline to dispense a medicine where the prescription is invalid, unclear, unsafe, or where professional judgement requires it. In such cases we will notify you and, where possible, refund any amounts already paid for that item.
  • We do not guarantee that every medicine is available or can be delivered to every location. Orders are confirmed only once accepted by the relevant pharmacy.
  • It is an offence to misuse, forge or alter prescriptions.

6. Medical Disclaimer

The Platform provides pharmacy and dispensing services. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and the information on the Platform is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified healthcare professional. You should always follow the advice of your doctor or pharmacist and read the patient information supplied with your medicines. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services.

7. Delivery

Orders are delivered by our courier and dispatch partners to the address you provide at the time and area of your choosing. You are responsible for ensuring the delivery address is accurate and that someone can receive the order. Certain medicines may require proof of age or identity on delivery. Our couriers may verify an order with a one-time security code before handing it over, and we may require you to present the code or your identification to receive the delivery.

8. Payment

Payments are processed securely by licensed payment providers (Squad). By placing an order you authorise us to charge the payment method you select. Card details are entered on the payment provider's secure pages and are never stored by us. You are responsible for ensuring that your payment method is valid and that you have the authority to use it. If an authorised charge is reversed or declined, we may suspend fulfilment of the order until payment is received. Prices and charges are displayed before you confirm payment. See our Returns & Refunds page for our refund policy.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform:

  • in any way that breaches any law or regulation (including pharmacy, drug or data protection law in Nigeria);
  • to submit false, forged or misleading prescriptions or information;
  • to attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, systems or data;
  • to interfere with or abuse the Platform, for example through automated scraping, load abuse or malicious code;
  • to resell medicines, or to purchase medicines on behalf of others for resale; or
  • to upload harmful files or content.

We may investigate misuse and may suspend or permanently close accounts that breach these Terms, and cooperate with regulators and law enforcement where appropriate.

10. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its software, design, content, graphics and trademarks, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Platform only for your own lawful purposes. You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works of any part of the Platform without our prior written consent, except to the extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you actually paid for the goods and services giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. The dispensing of medicines is performed by licensed professionals who remain responsible for their professional decisions in accordance with law; we are not liable for a pharmacist's professional dispensing decision except to the extent required by law.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform where you breach these Terms, where we reasonably believe your use threatens the security or integrity of the Platform, where we are required to do so by law or a regulator, or where your account is inactive. You may stop using the Platform at any time and may deactivate your account from the Delete Account page. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 6, 10, 11, 13 and 15) will survive.

13. Your Privacy and Data

Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By using the Platform you confirm that you have read and understood those policies. When you submit a prescription or provide health information to us, you consent to its use, retention and disclosure as described in the Privacy Policy, including to licensed pharmacists for verification and dispensing and to couriers for delivery purposes.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform will first be referred to amicable resolution, and failing that, to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria. Without limiting the forgoing, nothing in these Terms reduces your rights under applicable consumer protection law.

16. Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms, contact our support team via the Support page, or contact our Data Protection Officer regarding privacy matters at privacy@medicalarteries.com.
